The Gallery of Le Studio Fou-Fou, LLC shares the spirited artwork of Helen Michaels. Each painting tells a story of the gift she received and makes available to you through the art. For example, “Regal Receptivity” is designed to support you in opening your heart - being receptive to life at every level. The first “teaching” from a horse that Helen received was from Sis, who said at their first equine coaching session, “You don’t know anything about receptivity!” Imagine Helen’s surprise upon “hearing” this. By choosing to receive Sis’ words, Helen later felt her heart expanding literally in a way she never knew could happen. Fast forward 10 years and Lilia, the horse in “Regal Receptivity,” is poised in full presence, regally receptive to the present moment she finds herself; ready to respond to with confidence. This painting is a visual transmission of the teaching of receptivity.

Confidence 20x16 Oil on Wood Panel; Contact me for print price sheet. The horse is Weiska and she exudes the confidence of being fully herself in each present moment. I experimented with showing the "feel" of that energy presence by applying oil paint with my fingers (in latex gloves of course).
Mustang Spirit meets the Challenge: Onaqui - 24" x 36" Oil on Canvas; Contact me for pricing of the original. Prints available soon. Sixteen year old Onaqui was in a Utah mustang round up. They are supposed to be returned to the range at this age, but she was not. A kind soul made sure she went to an excellent animal sanctuary where she is receiving the best training to enter the world of humans. Her story inspires to meet the curve balls of life that come at any age and choosing to me them with heart is a powerful choice.
The Way Forward - SOLD - 12" x 9" Oil on 300lb paper; Prints available. My healing encounter with this horse occurred after he became more vulnerable due to loosing one eye. His confidence and new reliance on other herd members showed me how embracing vulnerability can be a powerful way to move you forward.
Regal Receptivity - 40"x30" Original Acrylic on canvas; Contact me for pricing Being in the present moment is the most powerful presence we can stand in. I painted Lilia, lead mare of the herd, in her regal, receptive being so that I can quickly reset myself to this state by looking at the painting.
Mother Daughter Moment - 35.5"x28" Original Oil on canvas; Contact me for pricing on original or prints. After learning of possibly selling Weiska (on left; Lila's daughter), Lilia (on the right) and Weiska met nose to nose for a moment. In that moment I wanted to capture the fleeting way of life and how our relationships are so precious.
New Spirit - 30"x40" Original acrylic on board; Contact me for pricing of original. Guinevere was newly pregnant and I was touched by her curious sense of the "new spirit" present within her body.
Power of Authenticity - 30"x40" Original acrylic on board; Contact me for pricing of original or prints. I created this painting of Merlin to represent his gift and important message: the most powerful place is being your true self.
Healing Gaze - 12"x9" Original acrylic on board; Contact me for pricing of original. Science shows that horses send healing energy through their eyes. Reiki can be sent through eyes, too, so I wanted to paint this phenomenon.
Wrightsville Beach, NC - 24"x36" Original oil on canvas; Commissioned piece. I was commissioned to paint this ocean scene so that the warm embrace of their experience here was accessible each day.

Esteemed Spirit - 30"x25" Original charcoal & acrylic on board; Contact me for pricing of original. This piece was inspired by watching Weiska stand up for herself against a gelding. I almost named it, "Sometimes a girl just has to say "no!"
